Community Housing

Community Housing is usually Affordable Housing that is run by not for profit resident led organisations such as Housing Associations or Local Housing Authorities. Although not a ‘legal’ category in its own right the term Community Housing is used by many people to describe Affordable Housing that is available to those entitled to Low Income Housing which can be urban housing or rural housing depending on the location in which you live.
You can find many community housing projects on these pages – some of these will be run by public organisations and some will be private housing companies and developers that specialise in developing and building community housing for various sectors of the social housing community.  Many Local Housing Authorities have outsourced the management and maintenance of their housing stock to housing associations who may call themselves community housing associations.
Community Housing comes in many shapes and sizes; there are Apartments & Flats, Bungalows, Detached Housing, Semi-Detached Housing, Terraced Housing… simply search the Affordable Housing by Type to find what you are looking for.
